Dear RRSA coaches and managers,

My name is John McCourry, and I am the field scheduler for the RRSA. My goal is to ensure that every team gets to play all the games that we can reasonably fit into a 9-10 week season. I will do everything possible to achieve that goal, but sometimes, Mother Nature and/or random chance can interfere with the best-laid plans. Know that the Board of Directors and I will work to ensure that every team has as fun and enjoyable season as is possible.

As a parent of at least one RRSA child for the past 3 years, I’ve come to believe that most of the frustration regarding scheduling comes from a lack of knowledge and inconsistency. So, the Board came up with the attached set of rules to ensure consistency of treatment for all teams in the RRSA when it comes to the scheduling of games.

Although I will make every attempt to be fair, please realize that with over 100 teams in the RRSA plus the Revolution teams, at least a few teams will have less-fair distributions of games than others. This may result in apparent inflexibility in some cases. I apologize in advance if you end up stuck with a bad game time – please know that I’m doing my best.

I know that there appears to be a lot of rules here, but remember - we are trying to be consistent, and consistency requires rules. If you have a truly special circumstance not covered by these rules, please contact me, and I will try to work with you.
